Perseverance, Action and Positive Mindset to Achieve Your Goal

Weight loss goals are made by so many of us in this world but how many of us really make the commitment to see those goals achieved? Losing weight is not easy for anyone and requires work. Learning how to meet your goals can dramatically change your life. Did you know that your thoughts have a direct influence on your weight? By letting go of your limiting beliefs and improving your self talk you can easily change your mindset while taking responsibility for the direction of your life. Everyone is plagued by challenges and unexpected events, so never let ‘life’ be the reason why you are not taking care of your health. Remember no one can do it for us.
Creating a plan can take you a long way toward meeting your weight loss goals. Start by writing specific goals on paper, remembering to include specific dates for these goals to be met. You will also have to be committed by doing something everyday so that you can continue meeting those goals. If you don’t make the mark don’t despair, simply view it as a learning experience and reflect on your journey while enjoying the process. Good health is a lifestyle choice that you need not be frustrated by. Keep your dreams alive by staying true to your goals. That dream is will become reality once you’ve completed your goal. Allow each step to motivate you to your success. By following a simple plan you will be able to reach your ideal weight. I did and have managed to keep it off in the process. For example, In September ‘09 I made three weight loss goals.
- First goal lose 5 pounds by 2/10
- Second goal lose 50 pounds 11/10 – Harder to do but very possible!
- Third goal lose 70 pounds, 7/11 Ultimate goal – Never really thinking it was possible now close at hand.
Remember to make your first goal easy and attainable. Create a second goal that is more challenging. Visualize your goal and how you will look and feel once it is achieved. Close your eyes, visualize and experience the future! There will be plenty of obstacles but but you must keep a positive attitude while you clear you mind of self doubt and embrace the change. People with clear goals succeed because they know where they are going. They can feel it. Whatever thoughts are in your mind can one day become your reality. Think positive with pure confidence and encourage yourself with constant repetition. By repeating something often enough, you will believe it and it will start to manifest in your life thereby allowing your life to become your reality.
There were three key factors that allowed me to achieve my weight loss goal. Small tweaks in what I was eating, changing my thoughts plus adding an exercise program is what brought me to my second goal. A goal I did not accomplish on time but despite the set back, I still kept going until it was met. Believe me, it really is ok to change the date as you continue to strive to meet your goal. Rememer this type of change is a process. The point is to never quit. It was January 2011 is when I met my second goal. The third and final goal is close at hand and even more challenging than I ever expected. Keep in mind too that each round number on the scale is a plateau, a challenge to get through. However, by keeping a positive mindset and belief in myself I still know it is possible to do. When you set your goals today don’t add extra pressure on yourself, be gentle. If you are having trouble achieving your goals by yourself then hire a coach to be your accountability partner. This will prove to be the best way to reach your goals since each hurdle can sometimes feel tougher than the one before. Keep pushing forward. If you fall down or feel weak, remember to pick yourself back up. You can do it and it will make you even stronger on the inside. Lose the weight slowly and by being smart about your choices. You have nothing to prove. Nor do you need to be the hero or the biggest loser. You only need to improve your life. I’m doing things now that I could never have imagined and still feel good in the process. This is a gift I gave myself. What about you?
Tell me… are you guilty of giving up too soon? Have you allowed your emotions to take over when chaos sets in or when you’re feeling overwhelmed? Start with your mindset, focus, and take action! When you begin to feel that feeling you must keep moving forward. Hang in there, you are so close and the best is yet to come. Create hand written goals that are realistic and visualize your future self in the process as you speak sweetness into your life. Perseverance is key for anything worth having. YOU ARE WORTH IT! Be patient with yourself and with the right mindset, you too can reach your goals, dreams and aspirations. If I can do it, so can YOU!
