Positive Mindset is the First Step to Being a Champion | Fantasy Football Week 15

Week 14 ended my fantasy 2012 football season as I kept hearing touchdown on the Redzone channel from the players on the first place team roster. The good news however was I was able to enjoy the live games in progress and see the heart of Tim Tebow be a leader, shine again, and watch another miracle finish of the Denver Broncos.
“If you believe, unbelievable things can sometimes be possible.” ~ Tim Tebow
Having heart, will and skill is a great combination. Of that there is no doubt Tim Tebow has and is a great example of taking the first step by believing in yourself. The Broncos started the season with one win and four losses and the season slipping away with Tebow on the bench. A great decision by management occurred, when they believed in Tim Tebow, the let him start although they had many doubts of what he could do. There were reports, the Broncos wanted to move on and draft a top quarterback in the 2012 draft. With what Tebow has done this season by now John Elway, VP of Football Operations should be a believer.
Against all odds Tebow has consistently lead his team behind in the fourth quarter to victory in recent weeks. This past Sunday was no different, there was a little over 2 minutes to go and his team was down by 10 points. Earlier in the game Tim Tebow’s receivers were dropping passes they should have caught. Demaryius Thomas let a TD pass go right through his hands in the third quarter. Tebow didn’t complete a pass in the second or third quarters, but he caught fire in the fourth quarter converting 18 of 24 passes, for 191 yards and a touchdown. There he stand on the sideline as the Broncos did not have the ball and many thought the game was over, but the defense came through and the Bears made mental mistakes. I could feel the magic in the air change; there were ticks on the clock, meaning anything is possible.
Tebow rallied his team, receivers who had dropped passes earlier in the game were making catches as the team had a no quit attitude that they share, the offense the defense all together. They score a touchdown, down by three, and a long shot to get the ball back. Sure enough, a fumble and the comeback kid drives get them into field goal range and Matt Prater kicked a 59 yarder (unbelievable) to tie the game. The stadium filled joy, the announcers were shocked, but the fans and the Broncos would continue to believe.
Sure enough in overtime, Chicago gets the ball first but does not score and Tebow gets another chance. Down the field he leads his team, his heart, will and skill takes over, his energy is embraced and shared by the team. With team work, and perseverance the Broncos moved into field goal territory, Matt Prater comes on the field again to attempt a 51 yard field goal, which he nailed through middle of the goal post, 3 points and the Broncos win!
Celebration time, relationship building and trusting each other as the character of a last place team which was 1-4 to begin the season, is now in first place leading the AFC West, feeling like champions ready to earn their place in the playoffs, their first division title since 2005 a possibility. Lesson to learn, have a positive mindset of a champion, never give up, it’s up to you to persevere in whatever you choose to do.
Best of luck to all of you who made it to the next round of the playoffs and to the final round to be the Fantasy Football 2012 champion. Now I will take a much needed rest, and root for the Jets, Giants and the Denver Broncos to get into the playoffs and look forward to see which teams in the playoff rounds have the heart, will, and desire to get into the Superbowl in February. ~ Bonnie
