Fantasy Football Week Two| In the Eyes of The Optiongirl

    See last week’s post>

    Fantasy Football Rookies

Preseason is over and the start of the Football season is here, some big scoring games, lots of excitement and always injuries that change the game and give you the opportunity to improve your team.  Here are few highlights of week one and some possible players that you can pick up for your fantasy team to help you during the course of the season to get into the playoffs and give you the opportunity to win your league.  My baseball season is officially over, I played a hot team had two complete games and still lost, however I had fun, gave it my best and there is always next year.

    Highlights Week One:

Cam Newton throws for 422 yards in debut

Rex Grossman throws 2 TDs, leads Skins to 28-14 win

Mike Tolbert scored three TDs but was injured in the final quarter. The good news is he is expected to be playing in week two and he is on my fantasy team

Matt Forte had a great game against the Falcons, 158 total yards, and a TD

Matthew Stafford was a stud, throwing for 305 yards and 3 TDs

Danny Amendola dislocated his elbow but the good news is  he is not having   surgery and could be back week 5.

Steven Jackson has a quad strain and will miss time. Cadillac Williams will get the start in his place.

Sam Bradford injured his finger on his throwing hand and could have nerve damage but he is probale to play week Two.

Nate Kaeding  is out for the season with a torn left ACL.

Darren McFadden  carried the ball 22 times for 150 yards and if he can stay healthy he could be a top 5 running back this year.

Tom Brady completed 32-of-48 passes for 517 yards and four touchdowns

    Waiver Wire Pickups:

    Quarterbacks

Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buf) #2 QB and/or fill-in starter

Rex Grossman (Was). #2 QB and/or fill-in starter

Cam Newton (Car) upside as a passer, due to his strong arm.

    Running Backs

Ben Tate (Hou) –Tate had a good week with Foster running for over 100 yards and a touchdown. He’s the handcuff to Foster and a good option for a weekly starter while Foster is out.

James Starks (GB) –shares carries with Grant but he has huge upside

Cadillac Williams (Stl) Steven Jackson is injured and he will be the starter.

Darren Sproles (NO) –He had 9 targets and has lots of potential in a high powered offense.

Keiland Williams (Det) – lots of opportunities on offense as long as Stafford stays healthy.  Williams is the biggest back on the roster at 230 pound and has potential especially if Best is injured.

Chester Taylor (Ari) – He was inactive in Week One and he is still learning the offense. If Beanie Wells is injured he will become the starter.

Dexter McCluster (KC) – a backup but when he gets the ball he can be very explosive.   The offense was real quiet this past week at home, which is rare, and he is the back up to Charles.

    Wide Receivers

Robert Meachem (NO) –Meachem should start for the injured Marques Colston.

Jordy Nelson (GB) He will be in the mix each week even with all of the wide receivers on the team.

Mohamed Massaquoi (Cle) – He is the starter, he should get many looks and QB Colt McCoy has potential.

Johnny Knox (Chi) – Roy Williams was injured and he could get an opportunity to play.

Greg Salas (Stl) He could replace Danny Amendola who was injured in week one and is out with a dislocated elbow.

    Tight Ends

Jermaine Gresham (Cin) – was active in week One and should get opportunities to score touchdowns

Ben Watson (Cle) He is the #1 TE and is healthy this year.

Fred Davis (Was) – Davis is second to Cooley who looked real slow, not like the old Cooley.  He could be a sleeper this year

Tony Scheffler (Det) – He’s playing behind Brandon Pettigrew, he is a viable option as long as QB Matthew Stafford is throwing the ball.
