How close are you to reaching your long term goals? At one point or another limiting beliefs can prevent us from achieving our goals or create the very roadblocks that stand in the way of what we desire to accomplish. What is important to remember is that you are not alone! If you have ever had fear stop you dead in your tracks then it’s crucial for you to begin monitoring your feelings, moods and emotions which work as the barometer for those nagging thoughts that fuel the fire of your limiting beliefs. Once you begin to recognize and shift your emotions from negative to positive you also begin the process of changing the limiting beliefs that stop you from accomplishing your dreams. With enough practice you will experience the feeling of empowerment as you move forward in accomplishing all that you put your mind to.
Limiting beliefs have haunted me throughout my life. I had a list of fears that was pages and pages long. I was the one who always said I can’t, I won’t, it’s impossible and doubted myself for I was quick to believe others could do it better than me. I was told in elementary school that I would never be more than a C student. I hear those words in my brain over and over again as I measured my success by my grades.
It wasn’t before long that my thoughts lead me to believe I had to be perfect. I believed in perfection, a crazy notion which keeps you chained to not trying anything, and it has taken me years to learn you don’t have to be perfect. You just need to strive for excellence as you do your very best because that is all you can ask of yourself. Of course my misguided teacher was wrong and I not only graduated from college, but I would also obtain my masters degree in business administration with honors. I learned grades are not what matters it is the belief in oneself. When you look for perfection and fear making mistakes you are stuck and you will not move forward or grow. Each of us has the ability to kick though any road block especially those tightly held within our mind. Once you release yourself from the idea of perfection and replace it with a commitment toward excellence then you are given the freedom to live life on your own highest level and not some preconceived unattainable goal that no human will ever achieve. Stay the course because breakthroughsan you think
There are some easy ways to cancel out the thoughts that limit your ability to grow into your destiny. You can begin by first making the conscious effort to believe you are strong as you gain control over your mind. Begin to actively process your thoughts and consciously release those limiting beliefs that have become all too comfortable within your mind. This is all a process so don’t despair if it doesn’t happen immediately for it will take time, practice, and patience. Pay attention to your stress, anxiety and to your feelings and emotions in the moment. Let go of the pain of the past, your beliefs of I can’t, I won’t, and believe fear can be conquered if you choose to. You can do anything you set your mind to. If you have a larger goal and feel a huge challenge is ahead, commit to small baby steps each day toward your goal, take action and believe you can.! You can do it!
