One of my favorite times of the year is the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah, the new year. Family time is very special to me, a time I treasure. On holidays we always get together to celebrate.  One of my favorite times of the year is the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah which begins in the evening of Wednesday, September 4, 2013 and ends in the evening of Friday, September 6, 2013.

 My family makes it a point to get together year in and year out. We rejoice, share our love and have fun with one another.  There are many ways to get into the holiday mood, and I’ve shared this uplifting video with you to celebrate.

Another exciting part of the holiday is the many special foods we share. We eat a piece of apple dipped in honey to symbolize our desire for a sweet year. All the foods have special significance and symbolize sweetness, blessings, and abundance. And as with every major Jewish holiday, candles are lit, appropriate blessings are made followed by a festive meal with loved ones. To learn more this special holiday check out the article.
