Admit it, you’re stressed and sometimes feel overwhelmed to the point where it seems as though there is no end to all the busyness.  Time is such a precious commodity and also highly coveted when you discover there isn’t enough of it within the day to accomplish what you want to do.  Tell me, when was the last time you did something to inspire you and make you feel good? If you’re like most professionals it’s been longer than you can remember. Redirecting your focus toward your well-being is an important step in helping you to relax, have fun, and feel increased inner peace. When you do, you “get in the zone of life”, which inspires confidence and brings balance so everything within work and home flows better. Doing what you love makes every part of your life better and can greatly impact how you experience your world. Don’t wait weeks and months to pass by. Now is the time to take action! You only need to redirect your attention to receive the maximum benefits. 

How you create a balance between your personal obligations and work demands makes the difference in how quickly you get in the zone of life and begin doing more of what you love to do. Striking a balance between the two will allow you to start doing what you love to do NOW instead of later and also add an abundance of tranquility and inner peace within your life. Start the process by acknowledging there is work to be done and decide you will schedule time in your day solely dedicated to those things that bring you joy. Schedule some “me time”. You deserve fun in your life. You can choose to experience these times of dedicated joy alone, with family, or with friends. What matters most is you spend the time. Your brain needs to decompress and to get away from it all too; and there is nothing better than a juicy chapter in a book, listening to music, a short or long vacation, or starting the day in meditation watching the sunrise to renew your spirit and well-being.

Carving out time is one area you will need to plan to really get in the zone of life. You also want to learn how to be in the now so you can fully enjoy the experience instead of think of those things causing you stress. This can be more than challenging especially if you are in the habit of being “on” all the time or you put a lot of pressure on yourself.  I know this feeling well and the challenge for me was in quieting my brain enough so I could fully enjoy my “me” time. I found myself time and again getting caught up in the moment and feeling fearful wondering what someone might be saying and or even judging myself on what I was doing (or not doing) at the time. I wasn’t in the zone of life. What worked for me was practice and meditation.  I made it a priority to schedule the time to focus training my mind to silence those thoughts so I could learn to enjoy more what was right in front of me. This has made a world of difference. I’m less stressed and have a better handle on those feelings of overwhelm. (I’m not perfect, I do have times where I slip up). What I realized was I didn’t know how to fully embrace my “me” time experience before moving on to something else. Those feelings of peace and tranquility alluded me until I learned the importance to celebrate my successes each step of the way. It’s OK to put yourself first and to meet your get in the zone of life goal.  Pat yourself on your back and enjoy your moment of greatness in what you have created. You’re worth it!

Another barrier to getting into the zone of life is focused misdirection. In the past, I would create large lists of all the things I had to do. Large never ending lists on various pieces of paper (all of which was overwhelming in itself), scratchpads, or within notebooks. I found I would focus on these various lists and the many minute details within each task. These unfinished lists turned into me resisting action because I kept telling myself I can’t’, I’m afraid, and/or it’s not good enough. As a result, I turned to food when feeling stressed and fearful. I was so overwhelmed by what I had to do I was unable to create the positive momentum needed in order to even start. I was sabotaging myself over and over again to the point it would take months to take a small step forward on projects I really wanted to do. I would worry about the future and focus on what could go wrong. I would get angry at myself and then find myself frustrated. Totally not a good place to be! Don’t do like I did. There was no benefit to these choices.  Decide now you will focus on your most important item first. Breathe deeply and re-center if you find yourself falling back into old habits. Learn to embrace the process by not focusing on the end result but by focusing on the one specific task at hand. Step into your fear a little bit at a time and you will be able to take on later. Remember to focus more on what you want, instead of what you don’t want.  I had to learn worry won’t make things happen faster or make things better. Use your time redirecting your focus by visualizing the positives that will come from you moving through your fear and stepping forward toward completion. When you let go of the fear, relax your mind, and learn to trust yourself and others, you will get in your zone and become a believer in all you can do. This alone can have a major impact in your life. It’s something you will need to work on and I’ve put together some additional ideas to help you when you are not in balance and allow you to get into the zone so you can live life to the fullest.

 11 Easy Ways How You Quickly Get in the Zone of Life

  1. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Many times, what is bothering you isn’t really very important and work itself out within a few days.
  2. Relax instead of worry. Be grateful for what you have, and make choices to do what you love to do.
  3. Take better care of you. Get to know yourself better giving you more confidence in your professional and personal life.
  4. Write down your favorite way to spend the day, and then schedule an appointment with yourself on your calendar. For example: Have a spa day, or buy yourself a gift you have wanted for a long time and haven’t given yourself the permission to buy.
  5. Shift your mindset to a more positive one. If you are feeling a little down, grab your pen and paper. Create a list of 10 things to make you smile. Choose one and do it.
  6. Soothe your soul with something you love, gives you a big pick me up, and a burst of energy.
  7. Do the kindest thing you can do for yourself if you are sad, or maybe in pain whether it’s physical or emotional.  My favorite thing is to begin each day with soft spiritual music, and finish my week with a clean desk at work, and have a 2-hour massage.  
  8. Don’t ever give up on your dreams or goals. Believe miracles happen each and every day.
  9. Be positive and enthusiastic.  Don’t complain, instead smile and be the one who brightens up a room when you are around others.
  10. Be brave. Go out of your comfort zone.  Keep it simple. You can do anything you set your mind to. 
  11. Make it a habit each day of doing one act of kindness for other people. You can change their life. They will feel good and you will too.

After you’ve started the process you may find you are at a point where you are not making progress in getting into the zone of life. If this does happen then I urge you to keep pushing forward and to refocus your attention on the feelings of success you’ve experienced in the past. You may not see it but you have made progress in making creating a shift in your life. Keep in mind it takes the time to change habits you have developed over a lifetime and may not have been in your best interest because you are now shifting the tides within an ocean has only brought you stress and overwhelm. Decide today you deserve fewer struggles, more enjoyment in life, and to feel real inner peace. Don’t allow your schedule to be so full you aren’t putting you and your well-being first. Stop worrying about the future and what might happen. Avoid focusing on your fear and focus on getting into the zone of life! I have learned from experience stepping into the fear and allowing yourself to feel it creates inner growth faster than if you simply do nothing. It takes practice and patience with you to break the cycle and by deciding to “do it (as my coach says) will put action behind the fear and push it out of the way. Once you take action, you will get better and better at it and in time your fear dissipates. By digging deep for your inner courage, you will discover it will become second nature to you and with each new challenge you will be stronger and better equipped. Overcome your initial feelings of fear by asking for help and turning to someone who supports you such as a friend, an accountability partner, or an experienced coach. When you take action, you will be amazed at how you good feel. 

You have a choice every day on how you will handle and the attitude you will embrace for what shows up in your life. Decide today to look for what you can learn and choose to only focus on what is positive. Don’t get caught up in frustration, anger, or lose focus on those negative thoughts coming into your mind. It’s a waste of valuable time and good energy. Train yourself to stop for a moment, take a long deep breath, and refocus your attention on what you want. Get into the zone of life by knowing what is important to you and put yourself in the mix by carving out time for doing what you love to do. Making this adjustment in your life will create more wealth and well-being so you can live a lifestyle filled with the happiness, inner peace, and all the freedom you want and desire.

Life is filled with twists and turns. Taking small actions toward what you want to achieve can create a new perspective on how you go about achieving your hopes, dreams, and aspirations. Have you or someone you’ve known ever challenged you to create goals beyond what you had imagined you could do? I know I have, and it’s made all the difference in my life! Goal setting is not rocket science but why go about it the same way over and over again? One of the best approaches I’m learning to help you succeed is to focus on improving your weaknesses so they become your strengths. You can do this by putting a plan in place that will keep things fresh and will help you feel renewed. Start by deciding that during this process of growth you are going to have fun, choose to be happy and do what your heart wants you to do. Life is short and can pass us by pretty fast so you want to take care of yourself and not spend too much time sweating the small stuff.

If you find yourself needing to pull yourself out of a funk, you can do so by changing your mindset and by shifting the language you use. It all starts with you accepting things for what they are.  Seeing life with all its ups and downs allows you to make better decisions about your plan of action. This small exercise will unlock your inner peace and is a great way to center your thoughts so you can begin finding the answers that will turn your weaknesses into new strengths, and also allow you to enjoy each day. 

When I started on my well-being journey I never imagined what an impact a change in perspective could be. The power to believe, added with simple consistent action steps has lead me to discover new strengths which had been hidden from my view.  The writing was never my strong point, math was. I didn’t even have to write a business letter in my corporate job, and my boss would put together the proposals to prospective clients so I didn’t get much practice. I do remember as a child that I did love writing letters to my teachers, friends, and family thanking them for their love and support.

As I grew life changed, I found other interests, that didn’t include writing.  A breakthrough appeared when one of my coaches gave me the assignment to write a poem. I wrote back to her expressing my apprehension with a big “Are You Kidding Me?” She wrote back and said, no she was not kidding and that I could do it. Yikes! I remember the fear and worry that filled my spirit. It was crazy that my coach had more belief I could write a poem than I did in myself. Instead of saying “I can’t” (one of my favorite answers before I started coaching), I dug deep and found the courage to move beyond my comfort zone and I started to write.  

Little did I know how much fun the process would be. It has opened up a new set of possibilities both personally and professionally. I learned when you find the courage to do something and continue to do it you gain a sense of confidence that spills over into all areas of your life. When I grow hesitant about trying something beyond my comfort zone, I do my best to remember back how fear used to fill me and how the flood of overwhelm would be so strong it would leave me paralyzed. Then I remind myself how I overcame all of that by finding the courage within myself to push through. This is something that has helped me time and time again. We all need a bit of encouragement and to help you make the shift take a moment and read my poem The Power of Inner Peace is Within Reach. My hope is you will realize all you can accomplish by changing your old way of thinking so you will explore new opportunities.

Putting myself out there in such a way was quite a challenge, especially since I knew that writing was not a strength I possessed. It was five years ago when I wrote that poem and had the courage to share on my blog. It taught me a valuable lesson in trusting myself and in the process of cultivating my untapped abilities. It goes to show you the power of how one thing can lead into another so that you can grow into who you are meant to be. Which, by the way, later on, another seed was planted by my mentor, when she said to me “you have a book in you.”  What? Writing a poem was such stretch that I laughed at the idea of writing a book. It was only with the support of my coach and working on having a positive mindset that I was able to discover that there really was a book in me when I published “Journey to Wealth”.  It took time and plenty of revisions but I’m proud to say it’s published and available on Amazon. Who knew? I didn’t, that’s for sure! Don’t doubt yourself. Your thoughts and perspective make a huge difference in what you do, Unlock the strength inside of you and take the steps needed so you can move forward today with a healthy outlook. 

How to Turn Your Weaknesses into Strengths

  1. Realize the impact of attitude on life. Raise your awareness to what your weakness might be and accept them, instead of going to the place of frustration.
  2. Ask someone you can trust for help that has done what you want to do.
  3. Start with doing one simple step. Practice to gain confidence and get better and better each day.
  4. Don’t take criticism or feedback personally. Not everyone is going to like what you do. Ask yourself what you can learn from the feedback that has been given to you.
  5. Change your thought process to think solutions. Focus on how to fix the problem, not on the obstacle. Don’t stay in a place of anger and keep focusing on what is negative, focus on what is positive
  6. Believe in Yourself. You are ready for unexpected challenges that arise. Think back to those challenges you already have handled in your life.
  7. Learn from your past mistakes, don’t beat yourself up, press on.

Start today by doing something you have never done before. The time has come for you to break through your challenges and gain a new perspective that will empower your new way of thinking. Do this by creating a plan and make it simple enough for you to follow. Revise as needed so you will stick with it. When you put in the effort to master a new skill, you will become excited again. The energy and revitalization you feel inside as you chart a new course in your life will become the foundation that will enable you to do even more. An opportunity exists at every turn. Take advantage of it. Create change in your life with small actions steps that move you closer to increased wealth and well-being. Living inside your comfort zone is not a good option if you want to find the fulfilled happiness you deserve. When you start to turn your weaknesses into strengths there are brighter days ahead so you can experience all richness life has to offer.

Take a moment to look around and see there is an abundance of hope around us if we just believe. Believing in our dreams or aspirations, let alone ourselves, isn’t always easy, since life can become quite chaotic and we can become lost in the process. When those moments of hesitation or self-doubt arise then it’s within those moments when we need to slow down, quiet our minds and reaffirm our decision to believe in ourselves by feeling the fear and doing it anyway. The power of action can be liberating. You only need to put one step forward to begin the process of believing in you.

Believe in You

When you lack passion, feel overwhelmed or are filled with uncertainty, you will see those feelings of disbelief set in. Such feelings serve as a signal for you to dig deeper in what is really going on inside of yourself. Take the time to look for inner guidance and learn to trust your instincts. As you find answers you will grow to recognize your strengths and abilities and not dwell solely on your limitations. You have the power from within to believe. Never forget that belief is a state of mind that is strengthened with patience, dedication, and plenty of practice.

What are your goals, hopes, or desires? Have you wanted to try something different or set out on a new adventure but stopped yourself before even getting started? I know I have many times and I suspect I will again, but the one thing that has kept me moving closer to my dreams is focused action. Sometimes life demands and obligations wreak havoc which can cause fear deep within. There is no need to be afraid because 99% of the time what we fear doesn’t happen. There is a story you are telling yourself, and it will get you nowhere.  There can be miracles when you believe.  It all starts and ends with you.  When the time is right and you are ready it shows up.  Be patient with the process, practice being kind with yourself, and believe that miracles will happen. Once you make the decision to take action then you are half way there. Start with the thought of believing you can and you will achieve your goals. You can do anything you set your mind to.

Find an environment that you can trust, feel safe, and where you can begin to create real change in your life. Once you begin the journey you may discover an ever-growing stream of obstacles that block your path. Perhaps fear might get in the way or you may even create nonessential tasks to avoid a situation that’s been on your to do list for a long time. Either way, you want to be prepared and follow through on the decision to make a different choice. There is no need to ever beat yourself up because you haven’t achieved your goal. Just remember to focus on the process of believing in your heart that you can and that you will. Once you do this you will find that obstacles become minor distractions and you become stronger in the process.

Imagine what your life would be like if you worried less, lived a life filled with confidence, and that you enthusiastically took action with an ease and flow that only comes when you truly believe. You will experience your dreams when you believe in yourself and that you can achieve what you set your mind to.

Are you committed to what you do? Do you have belief in you?

If you don’t believe in your abilities right now just ponder a moment that someone in your life who let you know or showed you that they believed in you. This could be a friend, a partner, or a coach. How did it feel? Was the moment filled with happiness and relief or was it filled with disbelief? Your answer can tell you a lot about how much you do or don’t believe in yourself. It’s wonderful knowing that someone in your life believes in you. It’s a special feeling inside that touches your heart and helps you to start believing in yourself as well. Do you ever wonder what they see in you? Why they never question or doubt your ability? Hopefully you understand that others can see in us the things we fail to because they don’t have preconceived notions or the self-defeating talk that we carry around with us. No matter how many cheerleaders you may have in your corner it’s still up to you to find the inner strength to accept your gifts and talents and use them to create the life you’ve dreamed about. You want to be able to forgive others who may be holding you back (including yourself) and accept the fact that you, your feelings and your dreams really do matter.

Sometimes we need to step back to see things just as they are.  It just may take another person to show you just how beautiful and wonderful you really are for you to see it for yourself.  I know this was the case for me when I started on my journey of wealth and well-being. Jumping on board when a good friend or loved one believes in you is the best gift you can give yourself. Others are there for support and can guide, lead, or even provide you a road map until you are ready to take the reins for yourself. Learn to use their confidence in your favor whenever doubt or uncertainty creep in. Before long you won’t have to rely on motivation or strength from someone else because you will understand and believe in yourself. It all begins when you accept and trust yourself. Remember you are human, nobody is perfect. Do the best that you can do. Mistakes happen, so you might as well learn the valuable lessons, share the wisdom, and then move on! There will be more challenges and even bigger lessons just ahead. When you fall and then rise again, YOU become a stronger person because you’ve learned to believe in yourself without doubt and fear. Believe, face your fears, persevere, and you will achieve!

We all have challenges in life. It’s good to remember the key to happiness is how we handle these challenges. Messages and lessons are everywhere and can be given at any time. What will you do with them when they come around? Will you live in fear or jump at the chance to believe in you like no one else can? Don’t wait; you must take action even when it’s a bit scary. Move forward despite what others may think, say, or do. Be open to growing your belief by expressing your thoughts and feelings from your heart. Our brains can sometime get in the way and keep us from what we desire the most. Act with confidence. Live your life as if you know you will succeed and you will find that it is impossible to fail. Choose to believe something good will happen and become determined to look at things in a positive light. Be yourself; the strong, powerful, courageous YOU that you are. Trust yourself and dream big! Never give up.  Believe in YOU!

Have you ever noticed how some days are super busy and other days are quiet and peaceful? If you’re like me those peaceful days can sometimes be few and far between! It can be tough to balance everything and still keep your sanity, especially when it comes to work. Do you have projects that are incomplete and play over and over in your mind leaving you to the point where you feel a little anxious, uncertain and maybe even frustrated to the point of giving up? Wouldn’t it be great if you were relaxed, full of energy and could always feel confident in overcoming what frustrates you? This may sound difficult to attain but you can overcome such roadblocks by remembering why you even started your project in the first place and then replaying over and over in your mind the excitement you felt before all the obstacles came your way. What if I told you that calm, peace and happiness could be yours within those super busy days too? With just a tweak or two to your mindset and in the actions you take you really can have the life you’ve always dreamed of. You just have to be willing do the work that will point you in the right direction.Bonnie Peace

With a little awareness and practice you can change your thoughts by using the power of intention to free yourself from the negativity that is distracting you from the life you desire. When we focus more on the positives, all the negative thoughts and emotions tend to slowly drift away to a state of calm and peace. When you nourish your mind with good thoughts and positive things on a daily basis you can quiet the negative voices you hear in your mind.  This can be achieved by taking action when you notice a negative thought creep in and by changing the thought to a positive one. Doing so will be the start of miraculous changes that will reduce stress, add more peace in your life and surround you with an abundance of happiness going forward.

When you think about your life what is the one thing that makes you feel apprehensive or is holding you back? Are you harboring a past event that still upsets you and figure that this is just how it is? Can you, for a moment, imagine yourself with reduced stress, increased confidence, and living a life of calm instead of a flood of regret or worry? A recent study confirmed that over 95% of what we worry about doesn’t even happen. Think of all the wasted time and attention. What about all the time you spend afraid or ashamed over things you no longer have control over? This is why it’s so important that you learn from these lessons and begin creating good habits and routines that focus on the positives and in what makes life pleasurable. Commit to doing so, and you will receive results that will improve and enhance your overall well-being.

It may not always feel like it but all that you desire is within your reach and you have the power to do what you’ve never imagined possible. You can accomplish your dreams by keeping the ball rolling forward instead of focusing on your past. You will not find answers by turning to food every time uncomfortable emotions kick in or by drowning yourself in work when things get difficult at home. Neither approach will provide the answers you need. A much better choice is to start from within by being gentler with yourself. Yes, it’s a process and it won’t happen overnight. You will have to take small simple steps to change your behavior. It really is a choice to remain positive, and with consistency you can get to a place of feeling peace in your heart, body, and soul. Staying in the positive is worth the effort since nothing beats the pure joy you will create and the benefits you will encounter from a richer more fulfilling life.

Keep in mind that all habits can be changed when you embrace, experience, and enjoy the journey. Once you make new positive habits part of a daily routine they become automatic and ingrained in everything that you do. They begin to feel very natural and soon feel like second nature. You must decide now that you want to create change in your life. Your happiness is important and is an integral part in you successfully doing what you passionately want to do in your life. These simple tips I’m sharing with you can move you closer to happiness by reducing the stress you may be experiencing and by giving you peace like you’ve never had before.

12 Tips To Reducing Stress, More Peace, and Happiness

  • Find your passion. Do what you love to do. Have a big vision with your individual goals that you choose and gives you a feeling of safety. You are a creative being and let your creativity shine.
  • Do less, not more. Focus on the important tasks, and get rid of the rest. You will get more accomplished, your frustration level will be reduced and you have more time for things that give you joy.
  • Choose only what aligns with your overall goals. Remove one item today that you do frequently that is not getting the results you desire,
  • Simplify your finances. Live life on your terms not somebody else’s. Pay cash when you can, reduce debt by paying off high interest credit cards, and spend within your means.
  • Create simple systems. Create well-organized simple systems for your everyday routines, anything you do over and over. Examples: Have a fixed place for your spare keys, bills, and mail.
  • Set goals for 3 months, 6 months and a year. Choose a goal to start working on in the short term that will move you towards your longer-term goal.
  • Focus on one task at a time. Give up multi-tasking. This will ultimately make you more productive and will reduce stress.
  • Take action, even the small action is better than procrastinating and doing nothing. Do your very best. Don’t wait until everything is perfect. Feel the fear, and do it anyway!
  • Give up wanting to being right. Look for a way to understand the other person’s position, to see it from their point of view.
  • Respond instead of react. Control your impulses and raise your awareness to your surroundings. If someone says or does something to you that you don’t like, say and do nothing but consider if what they’ve said has merit. Then count to 10 before you respond. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t!
  • Be compassionate and be thoughtful of how others feel. Think about what the other person might be going through. Don’t judge them. Remember there are two sides to every story, sometimes even more.
  • Get support. Be held accountable. Find a coach or partner who will support you to on your journey in life.

How to Simply Create More Well-Being and Learn to Love Life Again

Do you resist change? I know sometimes I do. Have you had something that you wanted to share, a project that you have been working on for months that when it takes you a long time to complete and you begin to feel a bit frustrated? This is a normal feeling; however it’s important to remember not to allow yourself to be frustrated for long periods of time because it could cause you to stop taking action. We all resist change from time to time but closing the door before opportunities reveal themselves is not a good solution. It’s better to be patient with yourself. Take time to invest in YOU by removing the urge to resist change and learn to focus on the action steps that will move you closer to the goals and desires you are striving for.

Do what you love picSometimes a friendly reminder helps. I know my coach has repeatedly said “there is no trying, just doing”. I have learned when you resist change, you lose that peaceful feeling within and you stop your growth potential dead in its tracts. It’s certainly not worth it. It’s better to do your best, trust your gifts and take the necessary action steps towards what you want to accomplish instead of being paralyzed with fear. When you stop resisting, you set in motion real change and are open to love life again without struggle, stress, and you will find that that you have more peace and happiness.

If you find yourself resisting change or have a project that you have been working on that is taking longer than you wanted today is the day to take action, no matter how small. Don’t resist and make up a story of why not to do it. Instead take the first simple action step that will move you closer to creating more wealth and well-being in your life, and follow the steps outlined below.

Simple Steps To Create More Well-Being To Love Life Again

  • When you are uncertain or feeling some fear, take the next small step even if it’s for only 5 minutes.
  • Set aside an hour and create a one page simple plan of what you want to do in the next year. Keep it close by you. Tweak it later on, but get something on paper. By having a plan, you will feel more relaxed, organized and be excited again.
  • Love what you do. Ask yourself how can I incorporate what I love to do more into life?
  • Have the courage to go out of your comfort zone. Get comfortable being uncomfortable and see the growth that follows.
  • Imagine your life with less stress, increased confidence, and days that flow with ease, instead of days filled with pain.
  • Spend time with your family and friends that you feel good when being around them.
  • It’s OK to get angry but don’t stay in that place for long. Give forgiveness to others and YOU!
  • Adopt an attitude of gratitude!
  • Find a way to make peace with your past. If you need support get a coach who can help you process your thoughts and feelings so you can move on and love life again.
  • Choose happiness. You are in charge of your own happiness.
  • Believe in miracles, they happen every day.
  • Keep thinking positive thoughts. Cut off the negative thoughts that keeps bringing you down. Learn to accept feedback and use it to get better each day.

Are you allowing stress or frustration to take over your life? Do you experience emotions that make your mind wander to a point where you feel like your head will explode because of all the mindless chatter? I know we’ve all had these feelings from time to time, and it’s even hard to imagine during these times that you can ever feel better; but know these feelings do pass and you will get to a point where you are in more control of your life and will also feel equipped to change the situation you are in. The trick is to not to concentrate so much on what is ahead of you that you miss out on what brings joy now. Once you understand the ebb and flow of life then you are in a better position to understand fully that YOU are good enough, strong enough, rich enough and smart enough to handle any situation that comes your way.Stop The Struggle of Stress and Learn to Be Happy

Do you think about the future and what you want to accomplish? When you do, does fear and anxiety show up? Do decisions seem to arrive slower because negative thoughts or false stories seem to get the best of you? With practice you can be more mindful, more conscious, and more aware when negativity shows up. Mindfulness is the acceptance of what is. Believe me that it is OK to dream, and you must if you are to ever reach beyond your current circumstances. What I’m sharing with you is the idea that you must learn to pay attention to your thoughts and feelings without judging whether they are right or wrong. You must learn to give yourself a bit of grace and kind consideration for being the beautiful, strong, and intelligent person you are. You must remind yourself each day that you are important and your feelings matter. When you use your energy to build yourself up during the good times then you are that much stronger to handle life when the not so good times arrive.

A great place to start making change is to never ignore your feelings or give your power away to any negative thoughts that may swirl through your head. Learn how to feel them and not fight them. Let them go deep within you and face them head on. It’s when we ignore or try to push feelings down when they do their most damage. By acknowledging your feelings you are able to learn the lessons that may move you to achieve your dreams and aspirations. When you allow them to run their course, you will find that your personal well-being will be better and life will have more meaning and purpose. In other words, you will be happier. No matter how difficult it may become you must keep pushing forward and find what you are passionate about in your life. Once you do then you will be even closer to leaving stress behind and becoming the happy person you deserve to be. A negative mindset will get you nowhere fast. Begin by shifting your focus on what you desire when you have those negative thoughts popping into the mind and with enough practice you will see changes that will allow your true destiny to unfold.

One way to grow in mindfulness is to practice creating mental toughness. You do this by first creating a plan of what you want to accomplish within a certain amount of time. Instead of being focused on what you are stressed about take a moment to gather your thoughts, take a deep breath, and start to think about what makes you feel like a success. Map out a plan that includes simple steps toward the goals you desire. Focus on one thing at a time when your mind races and then quickly follow up with an action step that will give you the confidence to enjoy more tranquility and peace in your life. There is choice in everything that you do. Make a solid decision, become mindful, and never let stress rule you because you only give your power away when you do. Always remember that you have the power and are in control. You must use everything within your very being to shift negative thoughts into positive ones. It’s important that you take ownership by being patient with yourself. You must never give up. You can do anything you set your mind to.

Mindful Tips to Enjoy Life More: Stop the Struggle of Stresspositve thinking

  • Stop your wondering mind by bringing yourself back to the present. Be present to the moment as it is taking place. Focus on what you’re doing now, instead of thinking or worrying about the future.
  • Make a commitment to unlearn old habits and develop new ones. Be patient, this takes time and practice but so worth creating change in your life.
  • When emotions run high go within instead of lashing out at somebody else. Learn how to process the emotions even if they are painful, or make you angry or sad. Don’t stuff them down, feel them, let go and move forward.
  • Become the master of your thoughts. Ask is it really true or are you making up a story?
  • Be bold brave and daring. Go out of your comfort zone. Embrace your fears. Yes fear is normal, but everyone has some kind of fear, Sometimes fear could stop you, but focus on the good, think positive thoughts, and overcome the challenge.
  • Be grateful. Appreciate your blessings in life. Do your best to think about what you have instead of what you don’t have. This positive mindset will give you more joy in life.
  • Set yourself up for success. Don’t fill your mind with negative thoughts about your goals you want to achieve. Decide if it’s really a goal that you want. If it is, take steps toward your goal and stop talking about it. Take action. If it’s not really your goal anymore, change the goal.
  • Think about why you are doing what you are doing in the first place. If you want it bad enough you will take the time and get it done.
  • Focus on one item at a time. No multi-tasking.
  • Accept what is and don’t beat yourself up.
  • Give yourself some “me time”. Each day spend 10 minutes doing zero. Be still. Sit in silence. Focus on your breathing and this will quiet your mind.
  • Manage your schedule better. Leave some room on your calendar with what you have scheduled between what you have planned to do in case something takes longer than you thought it would.
  • Do less instead of more. Think about what’s important. Ask yourself what can you cut out of your day that takes up time but really serves you no purpose? Take action now by stopping doing one item that is not important.
  • Be mindful with others by being a better listener. Pay attention to what is being said. If you are with the person have good eye contact, look directly into their eyes. Don’t think about what you want to say next, instead really listen to that person.
  • Have some fun. Do what you enjoy in life. All work and no play is no fun and is no life.

Practice being more mindful each day and learn to pay attention to life by becoming more in the present moment as you move through your day. This might be a challenge at first, but you will feel so much better when you do. I know when I am more mindful, my days are filled with joy and peace. This is a far cry from when I’m not mindful and I’m soon surrounded by stress and chaos. I’ve learned through the years that whenever life seems to be getting out of control that I must slow down and become present in the moment. You’ll find a lot of the tricks and tools that have worked for me in the above list. It truly does pay off when you become mindful and take the time for what matters to you. Make it a point to discover what is meaningful in your life and you will free yourself from mindless negativity. Don’t wait any longer, you really do matter! Open your heart with appreciation for the lessons as they arrive and each one will move you even closer to your dreams. Once you make the decision to quiet the chatter and to be present each moment then you will stop the struggle of stress within your life. This will do wonders for improving your overall happiness and well-being. Believe wholeheartedly that you are worth it and that you do matter. Remember to always take care of your heart, mind and soul because by doing so you will finally learn to be happy.

stock market roller coasterHave you ever had a whirlwind of events all in one month? That is how January has been for me. To name a few highlights, the stock market on a roller coaster ride creating challenges and future opportunities. New personal development classes, 28 inches of snow in the biggest snow storm I have ever seen and handle, jury duty to begin at the end the month, and planning my new event that will begin soon for all of you “To More Wealth and Well-Being”.

Prioritizing and choosing what to do first could be a bit overwhelming if you allow it to be. However with patience, smart decisions, trusting your intuition one item at a time, you will be more relaxed and feel more peaceful in the moment. Focusing on using your toolbox that makes you strong, confident and that helps you feel good during some of the chaos that is going on is the start. When you feel good, relaxed, focused you can accomplish what you desire.

How have you started your 2016? My choice was lots of self care which included journaling, eating healthy, working out and doing the best I can, one item at a time.   What a great time to increase my focus on well-being. Little did I know that the stock market would be in the midst of its worst start to a year historically? I thought it would be good to share some of my thoughts and a few investment tips of how to handle a turbulent stock market environment. At the time of this writing it’s too early to know how far down the stock market can or will fall, however it is very clear more violent up and down swings are likely over the next several months.bonnie's house 012216 blizzard

You can do some things now to be in a position where you are comfortable with your investment holdings and avoid unnecessary stress. Now is not a time to walk away and hide, its time to take an interest in what is happening, but be smart with your choices. Do you believe that listening to news reports is a reliable source for investment advice?  Are you confident that your stock market investment strategies will do well in a turbulent stock market?

Many of us have questions that need to be answered when it comes to investing our money.  Where to find the right answers can be tricky, especially since there are many places to find information and so many experts giving information.  You would be smart to seek the advice of an investment professional that can access your individual situation and answer your specific questions one-on-one.  If you are currently in the position of solely overseeing your own investments, it’s also wise to have an investment strategy in place that is flexible and that allows you the ability to exit quickly in order to reduce your exposure if the stock market is not performing well.

Ask yourself what is the review process that you currently have in place for your investment portfolio?  Is this done by you or has your portfolio been reviewed by an expert to discuss your financial assets?  You may have been holding your investments for a long time and they are not profitable.  You can make a simple change that could increase your potential return.  A portfolio review can help you find another investment to maximize your gains, lower your risk and help you achieve your investment goals. A good investment strategy starts with a clearly defined objective.  You want a portfolio to suit your needs, objectives, and time frame depending on your goals and objectives.

  • Watch your investments to make sure they are doing what you expect.
  • Review your investment to see if any individual stock, exchange traded fund, or bond position exceeds 5% of your overall portfolio.
  • Don’t be over weighted in a particular sector that is out of favor under selling pressure.
  • Know in advance how much risk that you are willing to take.  Prepare an investment plan with an exit strategy that suits your needs. Be ready before something unforeseen occurs.
  • When making changes in your portfolio, keep your whole portfolio in mind.
  • Individual stocks are volatile investments. You can make money fast or lose money quickly
    . It’s best to pay attention and not be invested when the company reports earnings if you are not ready for big price swings that might occur.
  • If you are investing in individual bonds review the credit rating to know the credit quality. The higher the credit quality the less risk you have,
  • Consistent gains with your investments are achieved by avoiding big losses. Don’t get into the mentality of not wanting to take a loss.

Take advantage of the opportunities in turbulent times.  Keep an eye on your portfolio so that you will know what is or isn’t performing well. Be flexible, willing, and prepared to make a change. Create clear goals and objectives now for your success. Stay focused, choose one item at a time, instead of going to a place of overwhelm. Prioritize, relax, have the courage to follow your dreams and you will make it through the whirlwind to achieve your goals and desires. If you can dream it, you can do it.  But if you don’t have a dream, how are you going to make it come true? Go for it. Dream and make it happen!

Have Fun, Avoid Overwhelm and Enjoy The CelebrationLearning to avoid overwhelm can be difficult. More often than not the unexpected happens and everything doesn’t go as smoothly as you would like. As a result we often have feelings of anxiety when just thinking about all the things on the to-do list. Negative thoughts might even pop up and create unnecessary worry, and it seems that there is no end in sight. My advice to you when these feelings creep up is to remember the big picture and remind yourself often that your well-being and the love of your family is of the utmost importance. When we honor ourselves and our relationships it becomes easier to make decisions that may otherwise keep us feeling unbalanced. Yes, there are times when you must choose your own well-being, and that is OK to do even if it does feel uncomfortable.  This is especially true since you cannot effectively take care for another if you aren’t actively taking care of yourself. There is no better gift to give than a happy YOU!

So many times in life we get so involved with what we are doing that we don’t remember that we must avoid the overwhelm by taking time to celebrate. I’ve often been guilty of this. What about you? Do you take time to celebrate all the good in your life? Celebration is beautiful and necessary in order to complete the cycle of gratitude. I learned this five years ago when I missed being at my Dad’s 75th birthday celebration. Not being there definitely left a gap in my heart but I made a point to ensure that this time was different by taking time off with my family and celebrating my Dad’s 80th birthday together. What a blessing and a wonderful opportunity to share in his special day. His smile said it all. It also served as a gentle reminder that there are no guarantees with what tomorrow brings, so we must treasure the special moments in life now.

The beginning of the trip was peaceful and smooth; we arrived two days before the party and found ourselves always on the run but having fun. My dad is a talented artist and made a point of showing us all of his 3D art that he is so passionate about (see below).  From there we had a quiet lunch, spent some time at the pool and saw the rest of the family.

The day before the big party my husband and I went with my daughter to a Mets spring training baseball game. There was a family dinner at night at an Italian restaurant. Wow the food was so good. It was challenge to eat healthy and I knew it was trouble when a basket of hot rolls topped with garlic (one of my favorite foods) was put right in front of me. I normally stay away but just couldn’t resist. YUM! Everybody celebrated together enjoying the meal and each others company.

Everything was going so well, who would have thought there would be chaos before my Dad’s celebration? The following morning the chaos began. I didn’t feel well, the food didn’t agree with me, so I did my best to get some rest. Then my husband came in with some unexpected news when he alerted me that we had no flight home. Our return tickets home was actually booked for a month ago (accidentally of course).  Then the challenge began for us to find a reasonably priced ticket home. It’s a good thing we had phones, a computer and help from our family travel agent.  Needless to say, I was overwhelmed with all the intricacies surrounding our return finding a decent affordable flight, the rental car, another night at the hotel, calling our jobs, etc. ENOUGH already!  As you can imagine it wasn’t but within 5 minutes of finalizing everything that we received a text that my mother-in-law medical life alert was signaled. Trying to find out what was going on and if she was OK was real scary being far away from New York. Through a series of text messages back and forth we soon learned that she was fine. What a relief, and how wonderful it was to know that all was well so we could still make Dad’s party.  No rest for the weary and off we went!

I’ll never be able to put into words how happy I felt walking in the door seeing my dad smile. It was a fun and wonderful experience being able to meet his friends and also seeing the family enjoying one another. As life would have it, after the party ended my father realized he didn’t have keys to the car to get home, he had given them to my brother. Yes, a bit more drama occurred but thankfully everything ended well. I can’t express enough how glad I was that we were there together to celebrate life and family with my Dad. It’s a day I will always remember and have learned so much in this journey of well-being. The biggest lesson being that even though times might be a little chaotic things always have away of working themselves out. Over the years I’ve learned to focus on how to fix the problem, not focus on the obstacles. Below are some of my best insights to help you live a happier and more joyful life:

  • Don’t sweat the small stuff.
  • When you order plane tickets online check your day of departure and arrival date very carefully to make sure it is correct.
  • Pack some healthy food to eat for a snack.
  • Bring a car phone and computer charger.
  • If you are driving in a state that you don’t know, download on your phone Waze, a voice instruction, free mapping, traffic, and navigation application.
  • Pack your medicine in your carry on, in case of unexpected delays or a lost suitcase.
  • Bring your business card. You never know when you make a friend or find someone who you can help.
  • Be kind, patient and have compassion for those around you.

Remember to enjoy special moments with your family and friends, and most of all to celebrate with a thankful heart!

The Holiday Season has arrived and it happens to be my favorite time of the year! The combination of Thanksgiving and the festivities surrounding the season provides a wonderful time to reflect, show gratitude, and appreciate just how great life has been to you. This can also be a season of stress and worry. Many find their emotions are in full gear constantly going up and down with no remedy in sight. Maybe you’ve noticed your own frame of mind is out of balance. Perhaps you’re feeling a little stressed thinking about all the things you need to do. I can bet that you are most likely being pulled in different directions with a laundry list of must do’s, and a schedule that’s bursting at the seams! Don’t worry you’re not alone and before things progress too far let’s look at some solutions that will actively set in motion your intention for you feeling better, being happier and improving your well-being during this holiday season.

12 Simple Ways for Well-Being Instead Of Feeling Stressed

  • Write a list of things to do on paper that come to your mind. Prioritize them by what is most important. Does it really have to be done by you or can the responsibility be delegated to someone else?
  • Create a system for routine tasks that you regularly do that are not working to your satisfaction. If it doesn’t work make some simple tweaks with the system until it does.
  • Do less, not more. Is there something that is not really necessary that I can skip doing but still get what I want done? Choose what aligns with your overall goals
  • Get support. Find a coach or call a trusted friend or family member you can turn to that you trust.
  • Move your body. Create a routine to do, a simple exercise that you think is fun, even if it’s for 5 or ten minutes.
  • Get some fresh air, go for a leisurely walk. This will give you an instant pick me up from what you were presently doing. For those of you who are near a beach, stare at the water and listen to the sounds of waves.
  • Always do your best, look for excellence not expect perfection.
  • Don’t compare yourself to others. Do what is in your heart, Use your experience as a stepping stone to the next great opportunity that lies ahead.
  • Don’t be so hard on yourself. There is no benefit to you to beat yourself up, Worry less and relax more. In the end, the more you learn to relax the more you will actually get done.
  • Schedule a fun night out with your friends. Schedule the time on your calendar.
  • Book a massage. Your body will thank you. For those if you who have had massage before, treat yourself to an additional 30 minutes. (I love my 2 hour massage to relax and have time to myself).
  • Designate a place in a room where you live that you feel safe to stop, listen and take some deep breadths. Feel the quiet, the tranquility and the peace within you. Tranquility is a great state of mind to be in.

Here is a short breathing exercise that is simple and can be done just about anywhere.

  • Sit or lie down
  • Slowly count to five while you breathe in through your nose. Hold your breath for a moment.
  • Count to five again while breathing out slowly through your mouth.
  • Repeat 3 times and feel a shift in you.

Everybody needs a bit of calm, peace, and moments of quiet in order to relax. This can be a challenge in our busy day to day responsibilities but an action that is crucial for your overall well-being. There are so many different ways you can choose to relax, so experiment to find out what works best for you. Try first to undertake one tip, and if it doesn’t work, do another until you find what works for you. Don’t wait for the New Year to make some changes. There is still time in this year to create habits that will help you feel better. Let today be the day you shift your mindset to more positive thoughts. Remember to always be gentle with yourself and gain understanding as you increase your self-care for a richer and happier life.
