Investing in YOU is something to do all year long, not just for a holiday, or a week or just once in a while. Yes this might be challenging sometimes, but in the long run taking care of your health and well-being helps everything and everyone around you. I hope you enjoyed the holiday season being with family and friends. A new year approaches and a new beginning. Keep taking small strategic steps toward your goals and desires. Each success brings you closer to a life of tranquility instead of a life filled with stress and worry. You will become happier, healthier and more content if you work toward your dreams in a slow steady pace. Doing more doesn’t always make things better, and you will be surprised how relaxing life can be once you begin to focus on what you are passionate. You will feel a true sense of renewal and begin to finally live the inspired lifestyle you desire.

Tranquility is defined by Dictionary.com as a “quality or state of being calmness, peacefulness, quiet, and serenity.” This is exactly what I wish for all of you!

Whether it’s during the holiday season, the start of a New Year or just another normal day making well-being a priority is essential. Did you ever notice how some days are super busy and other days are quiet and peaceful?  Sometimes you may even feel a little anxious and uncertain. Wouldn’t it be great if you could jump start your day on your terms and be full of energy and unstoppable happiness? You can have this once you decide to create a real change in your life with some simple action steps that will bring you to the next level and beyond. To follow are some systematic steps toward a lifestyle of peace and tranquility as you move ever closer to successfully doing what you want to do.

Easy Steps To Improve Your Well-Being With More Well-being-this-way1Tranquility and Less Stress

  • Start your day an hour earlier and finally create some private time for you. Once you do so you will be pleasantly surprised just how much you  get done during this peaceful time of the day. Mix it up a bit and add some of your favorite music while enjoying the beauty around you. What a great way to start your day!
  • Choose something that you like to do and that you are passionate about. This could be writing, prayer, meditation, or even exercise. It doesn’t matter the activity as long as it’s whatever you like to do and will shift your thoughts into a more positive frame of mind. (I love my time for writing, exercise, and researching information about fantasy sports with music in the background)
  • Do less. I’m sure you have heard of the K.I.S.S. principle- Keep it simple stupid. Do you use this principle? If not, why? Stop now and make the decision to remove one item that you do often and are not getting the results you desire, and simplify it. By using this principle you will get more done, be happier and less stressed.
  • Set goals for 3 months, 6 months and a year. Enjoy the journey. Pick one to start working on in the short term that will move you towards your longer-term goal. Choose one thing at a time, focus on it, and make it happen.
  • Create a morning and evening routine to start and end your day on a positive note.
  • Empty your E mail inbox and clear your desk regularly. This will help you if you are feeling overwhelmed.
  • Respond to others without reacting. Raise your awareness to your surroundings. If someone says or does something to you that you don’t like, say and do nothing. Count to 10 before you respond. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t!
  • Be kind and compassionate. Be thoughtful of how others feel. Think about what the other person might be going through. Don’t judge them. Remember there are two sides to every story.
  • Be patient, kind, not hard on yourself.  If you had a little too much to eat during your day, or at a party, don’t beat yourself up. This will get you nowhere fast. Give your body some love, create time into your schedule and go for a walk. Clear your mind from the stress and think positive thoughts.
  • Move your body. Exercise. See if you can make this a daily habit. Get into the habit. Start simply with 5 minutes each day. Expand the time with what works for you. Exercise not only helps you lose weight but it could make you feel so much better like it has done for me.
  • Find your passion. Do what you love to do regularly. Let your creativity shine through. You will be happier, more tranquil and less stressed.
  • Be held accountable. Find a coach or partner who will support you to on your journey in life.
  • Review and write down your financial plan to simplify your finances as you focus on growing your wealth.

You really do have the power to jump start your day and be full of energy and unstoppable happiness! All it takes to get started is choosing one action step and following through with focused attention. You will create real change once you start. Remember to believe in yourself because you can do anything that you set your mind to. Let today be the day that you make the decision that will lead you toward less stress and more tranquility as your dreams become reality.

When was the last time that you did something different to increase your knowledge to grow personally and professionally as you moved out of your comfort zone? Recently I had an incredible four days traveling to Colorado by myself (a real stretch for me) to attend a 16 hour coaching/training event with my coach Sheri Kay Hoff while also incorporating a visit to meet the Schwab trading team in person that I work with in my corporate job. I wanted to use the time to further develop our relationship and also enhance my knowledge of the computer operation for placing of orders for trading thereby learning first hand how this technology could benefit my clients. What a great experience and I will remember it always. After a full day at Schwab I went back to the hotel and had dinner with a friend, and then rested up for my upcoming 2 days of training.

What attracted me to Sheri’s coaching/training event was my desire to further master my inner game. I feel it’s important to have a strong mental mindset. When your inner game is strong you are confident and can make a difference in the lives of others. When done right there is also a feeling of being unstoppable. Being around like minded individuals also helps in keeping you on your toes. What I enjoyed most were the exercises and coaching methods shared by Sheri during the session. Each were impactful and created energy shifts that caused so many breakthroughs.

The environment felt safe, everyone was fully engaged and committed to working through whatever was holding them back. They were open, vulnerable and shared their heart. It was a weekend of community, planning, and expansion. People shared skills and talents that had been buried. Periodically we would all be in a circle put our hands together and say “Be the Inspiration” How empowering! I could feel the connection we had with one another when saying the words. There is an untapped power that comes to life when we really connect with one another. Who have you inspired lately? Take a moment and call a friend just to share some encouraging words and put a smile on their face. You will definitely lift their spirit and discover that yours will be lifted too.

Breaking through your barriers can leave you feeling empowered like never before. You will find as you share in the breakthroughs of others you can’t help but feel enlightened by the entire experience. I had quite a few of these breakthrough moments myself; but the highlight that I treasure was when I faced my fear of public speaking. I stood up in front of the room and read a poem to the group called “She Let Go” (by Rev. Safire Rose which I’ve shared below). May it inspire you the way it has inspired me!

When I was called on to share my poem I was full of fear and could feel the butterflies in my stomach, and despite these overwhelming feelings I did it anyway. I went up said a few words first that I thought would enhance the presentation; however, I received feedback that this was not the case. I was asked to go back to my seat and do it again, but this time go right into the poem. What a great and powerful lesson taught by Sheri. The energy when I did the reading the second time was electrifying! I was truly inspired by the moment and know someday soon I will do even more speaking.Sheri denver sunset 2014

We all should all feel the fear and learn to do it anyway. I am now re-energized by having had time away, in meeting with my coach and business associates, and also in making new friends. It’s difficult to put into words how seeing the mountains, the sunsets, and embracing change was so soothing to my soul. It is an experience that will forever keep me moving beyond my comfort zone.

What would it take to move your out of your comfort zone? Would it be an adventure or simply time focusing on your personal growth? Decide today is the day for you to be bold and adventurous as you reach out to embrace what you really want. Get out of your comfort zone. She Let Go

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.  She let go of the judgments.  She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.  She let go of the committee of indecision within her.  She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice. She didn’t read a book on how to let go.  She didn’t search the scriptures. She just let go.  She let go of all of the memories that held her back.  She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.  She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go. She didn’t journal about it. She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer. She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper. She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope. She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go. She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter. She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment. She didn’t call the prayer line. She didn’t utter one word. She just let go.

No one was around when it happened. There was no applause or congratulations. No one thanked her or praised her. No one noticed a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort. There was no struggle. It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad. It was what it was, and it is just that.

Realize failure is part of success and understand mistakes will happen. To be a winner you don’t want to be overly scared to lose. This is a hard lesson to have to learn and I’m still grasping this concept as well. Decide now YOU will feel great when you go out of your comfort zone. Be gentle with yourself. Know you will rise to the occasion and successfully meet the challenge. Go for it, and act on your dreams! Keep your dreams alive and dream big.

Take a small step forward each day and share your wisdom with others. Be kind to yourself.  You don’t need to know all your answers in advance. Focus on what you desire just as if it’s yours NOW! Be YOU!  Be the best and don’t settle for less.

Begin today by surrounding yourself with others who support you and are positive and avoid the people who give off negative energy and put you down.

Are you a new home buyer? The home buying process can be a bit complicated; a Realtor like me can assist you in making the process smooth and enjoyable. In this article I will go over the basic steps in the home purchase process. You can easily write individual articles about each step in the process, so this is that you have a basic understanding of what goes on each step of the way.

It all begins with the selection of a Real Estate salesperson. You should select someone who will listen to your wants, be attentive to the things that are important to you, and most importantly someone you feel you can have a good working relationship with. The next step in the process is getting a preapproval from a Mortgage lender (your broker should be able to recommend good people for you to work with all throughout the process) Most buyers will not entertain offers unless they know the bank will in all likelihood give you a mortgage, or you are going to pay cash and supply proof of funds. It is now time for that realtor to help find you that home you love. You will then make an offer and he or she will negotiate an accepted offer.

Once those negotiations are complete a vital part of the process is the home inspection. This can be done by either building inspectors or engineers. Most inspectors are either certified to do, or work with termite inspectors who will check for termites or termite damage. Once the inspection report is reviewed by you and your attorney it is time for the formal contract. You should have an attorney selected, his name number and email available any time prior to the inspection.

It is now time for the bank to do their work if you are getting a mortgage. They will need a copy of the contract signed by both parties. They will then order an appraisal making sure the value of the property is in line with the money they are lending you.  The bank and your attorney will now check for clear title of the property, check the survey and make sure there are no outstanding liens against the property. Once all your personal information is verified the bank will issue a commitment letter. This process usually takes 30-60 days.

It is now time for your final walkthrough before closing. This is typically done the day of or the day before closing. You will use this time to insure that things are still in the same condition as they were in when you negotiated the purchase. If you were to find things in disrepair (different condition than when the purchase was made) your attorney will hold money in escrow so you can have them fixed or an amount will be agreed upon prior to closing. It is now time for the formal closing. This usually will take place at the bank attorney’s office.

Congratulations you are now a homeowner. Enjoy your new home!

Are you allowing stress or frustration to take over your life? Do you experience emotions that make your mind wander to a point where you feel like your head will explode because of all the mindless chatter? I know we’ve all had these feelings from time to time, and it’s even hard to imagine during these times that you can ever feel better; but know these feelings do pass and you will get to a point where you are in more control of your life and will also feel equipped to change the situation you are in. The trick is to not to concentrate so much on what is ahead of you that you miss out on what brings joy now. Once you understand the ebb and flow of life then you are in a better position to understand fully that YOU are good enough, strong enough, rich enough and smart enough to handle any situation that comes your way.Stop The Struggle of Stress and Learn to Be Happy

Do you think about the future and what you want to accomplish? When you do, does fear and anxiety show up? Do decisions seem to arrive slower because negative thoughts or false stories seem to get the best of you? With practice you can be more mindful, more conscious, and more aware when negativity shows up. Mindfulness is the acceptance of what is. Believe me that it is OK to dream, and you must if you are to ever reach beyond your current circumstances. What I’m sharing with you is the idea that you must learn to pay attention to your thoughts and feelings without judging whether they are right or wrong. You must learn to give yourself a bit of grace and kind consideration for being the beautiful, strong, and intelligent person you are. You must remind yourself each day that you are important and your feelings matter. When you use your energy to build yourself up during the good times then you are that much stronger to handle life when the not so good times arrive.

A great place to start making change is to never ignore your feelings or give your power away to any negative thoughts that may swirl through your head. Learn how to feel them and not fight them. Let them go deep within you and face them head on. It’s when we ignore or try to push feelings down when they do their most damage. By acknowledging your feelings you are able to learn the lessons that may move you to achieve your dreams and aspirations. When you allow them to run their course, you will find that your personal well-being will be better and life will have more meaning and purpose. In other words, you will be happier. No matter how difficult it may become you must keep pushing forward and find what you are passionate about in your life. Once you do then you will be even closer to leaving stress behind and becoming the happy person you deserve to be. A negative mindset will get you nowhere fast. Begin by shifting your focus on what you desire when you have those negative thoughts popping into the mind and with enough practice you will see changes that will allow your true destiny to unfold.

One way to grow in mindfulness is to practice creating mental toughness. You do this by first creating a plan of what you want to accomplish within a certain amount of time. Instead of being focused on what you are stressed about take a moment to gather your thoughts, take a deep breath, and start to think about what makes you feel like a success. Map out a plan that includes simple steps toward the goals you desire. Focus on one thing at a time when your mind races and then quickly follow up with an action step that will give you the confidence to enjoy more tranquility and peace in your life. There is choice in everything that you do. Make a solid decision, become mindful, and never let stress rule you because you only give your power away when you do. Always remember that you have the power and are in control. You must use everything within your very being to shift negative thoughts into positive ones. It’s important that you take ownership by being patient with yourself. You must never give up. You can do anything you set your mind to.

Mindful Tips to Enjoy Life More: Stop the Struggle of Stresspositve thinking

  • Stop your wondering mind by bringing yourself back to the present. Be present to the moment as it is taking place. Focus on what you’re doing now, instead of thinking or worrying about the future.
  • Make a commitment to unlearn old habits and develop new ones. Be patient, this takes time and practice but so worth creating change in your life.
  • When emotions run high go within instead of lashing out at somebody else. Learn how to process the emotions even if they are painful, or make you angry or sad. Don’t stuff them down, feel them, let go and move forward.
  • Become the master of your thoughts. Ask is it really true or are you making up a story?
  • Be bold brave and daring. Go out of your comfort zone. Embrace your fears. Yes fear is normal, but everyone has some kind of fear, Sometimes fear could stop you, but focus on the good, think positive thoughts, and overcome the challenge.
  • Be grateful. Appreciate your blessings in life. Do your best to think about what you have instead of what you don’t have. This positive mindset will give you more joy in life.
  • Set yourself up for success. Don’t fill your mind with negative thoughts about your goals you want to achieve. Decide if it’s really a goal that you want. If it is, take steps toward your goal and stop talking about it. Take action. If it’s not really your goal anymore, change the goal.
  • Think about why you are doing what you are doing in the first place. If you want it bad enough you will take the time and get it done.
  • Focus on one item at a time. No multi-tasking.
  • Accept what is and don’t beat yourself up.
  • Give yourself some “me time”. Each day spend 10 minutes doing zero. Be still. Sit in silence. Focus on your breathing and this will quiet your mind.
  • Manage your schedule better. Leave some room on your calendar with what you have scheduled between what you have planned to do in case something takes longer than you thought it would.
  • Do less instead of more. Think about what’s important. Ask yourself what can you cut out of your day that takes up time but really serves you no purpose? Take action now by stopping doing one item that is not important.
  • Be mindful with others by being a better listener. Pay attention to what is being said. If you are with the person have good eye contact, look directly into their eyes. Don’t think about what you want to say next, instead really listen to that person.
  • Have some fun. Do what you enjoy in life. All work and no play is no fun and is no life.

Practice being more mindful each day and learn to pay attention to life by becoming more in the present moment as you move through your day. This might be a challenge at first, but you will feel so much better when you do. I know when I am more mindful, my days are filled with joy and peace. This is a far cry from when I’m not mindful and I’m soon surrounded by stress and chaos. I’ve learned through the years that whenever life seems to be getting out of control that I must slow down and become present in the moment. You’ll find a lot of the tricks and tools that have worked for me in the above list. It truly does pay off when you become mindful and take the time for what matters to you. Make it a point to discover what is meaningful in your life and you will free yourself from mindless negativity. Don’t wait any longer, you really do matter! Open your heart with appreciation for the lessons as they arrive and each one will move you even closer to your dreams. Once you make the decision to quiet the chatter and to be present each moment then you will stop the struggle of stress within your life. This will do wonders for improving your overall happiness and well-being. Believe wholeheartedly that you are worth it and that you do matter.
