Eight Ways to Feel Good Consistently Focusing on Your Well-Being

What would it be like if you could feel good consistently?

If you are not feeling at your best, it’s time to simplify your responsibilities. Prioritize taking care of your well-being daily. In this way, you will improve your level of energy, happiness, and peace.

When you develop routines and strategies that you are passionate about, you feel calmer and limit your stress levels. Make up your mind to choose one action step today that will push you closer to doing more of what you love to do. Keep it up, and you will discover choosing your well-being will make you happier.

Getting in the habit of planning for “me time” or other plans will become a priority, so dedicate at least a few minutes each day focused on doing something that makes you happy. First, create a simple routine to move your body and watch how this dominoes into other positive habits. For example, you could start your day doing something positive by implementing that exercise program you’ve always wanted to do, such as walking, running, swimming, weights, yoga, etc. Or you can choose something that brings you joy, like reading what inspires you, listening to music that energizes you, or meditating to find your center.

“Every single second is an opportunity to change your life because in any moment you can change the way you feel.” ~ Rhonda Byrne

If you’ve already started and are not finding a few challenges, don’t stop; keep going. Be patient with yourself. Look at your daily schedule and see where you can cut out tasks that you can delegate or get you stuck. Remove the barriers that allow your day to be booked solid. You will have to put yourself as a priority, so there is time in your day for you. You are so worth it.

It takes time to develop new patterns and habits. Sometimes you might need to practice more than you thought was necessary before a new way finally clicks and you feel calmer and happier. This feeling will empower you to want to do more of it. Like any habit, once you take consistent action, you will get better, and it will become second nature to you. Below I’ve put together some tips to help you make changes to feel good consistently.

Eight ways to focus on your well-being to feel good consistently

  1. Schedule an appointment on your calendar with yourself. Do something you love. Some examples: Take a yoga/exercise class. Read or listen to an audiobook for 15 minutes a day. Catch up with an old friend by phone or coffee.
  2. Get up 30 minutes earlier to start your day. Use the time to create a daily routine that makes you happy. For example, journaling, meditation, listening to music, or walking.
  3. Be still, and don’t do anything for five minutes. Breathe in and breathe out. Follow your breath.
  4. Reduce the amount of time you worry. Over 90% of what you worry about will work out within a few days.
  5. Shift your mindset if you’re upset to focus on something positive. A helpful strategy is to write down five things that make you smile. First, choose one and do it.
  6. Reduce the amount of time on social media. Set a timer on your phone or schedule a certain amount of time to help you break your habit of what you do now.
  7. Do less, not more. Remove, simplify, or tweak one item that you often do and are not getting the results you thought you would.
  8. Develop a mantra that you say to relax and will inspire you. Use positive words like “I can handle this” or “Nothing can hurt me.” My mantra is, “I can do anything I set my mind to.” Repeat the mantra whenever you feel you’re not centered.

Life is a balancing act. When you are not feeling your best, that is your body telling you that it’s time to make a change in your life. Start creating different practices such as spending quality time with yourself and choosing to do what you love and what makes you feel good. When you place yourself as a priority, you have put yourself in the best position to meet your health and well-being goals. You can accomplish this when you finally decide it’s time to simplify your extensive list of responsibilities and take time for yourself and do more things that bring you joy. You will have more energy, happiness, and a life filled with peace and calm when you do so daily.
