Simple Tips for Investing in Yourself

Happy New Year.  2022 is a new beginning, and though many challenges may show up, it is in your best interest to remember that living a healthy, wealthy lifestyle is possible and within reach. The best way to start is by being clear on your goals and determining the results you want, which will place you in a better position to put a practical plan of action in place. When you combine dedication with healthy food choices and a consistent workout routine, you will be on your way to enhancing your overall well-being.

Consistency will also sustain you when making the required adjustments as you move forward on your path to success. Decide today to diligently meet your goals while avoiding having your busy schedule hinder you from taking care of yourself.

Focus on positioning yourself to feel good, be happy, and experience high-energy vibrations that recharge you. Once you do, you start attracting the right people into your life who will encourage and support your goals, dreams, and aspirations. Remind yourself daily that you deserve to be successful and live the lifestyle you desire.

It’s helpful if you can find a minimum of 5 minutes a day to begin the process and then build up to 15-30 minutes. Your consistency will eventually pay off. Keep in mind that you may find such change may not be so easy at first. Stay persistent. Your efforts and sacrifices will pay off over the long term.

When I started my well-being journey almost 11 years ago, I was not in good shape and did not take great care of myself.  I was in a lot of pain, couldn’t walk one-half of a block, and didn’t know how to exercise, so I rarely moved my body. I focused too much on work, and as a result neglected to take care of my mental and physical health. I knew I had to make a change and reached out for support. Once I did, I was able to find a coach who filled me with a wealth of new information, which revealed a workable plan of positive change that included exercising and healthy eating.

What I learned most from the initial experience is that exercise inspired and energized me. Do you want to shift your energy and feel good? Exercise is a great way to start feeling better. Choose exercises that you enjoy so you will stick with your program. My favorite exercises I began with were riding a stationary bike and lifting weights. Both gave me a feeling of inner strength.

What are some of your favorite exercises? If you have none at the moment, then choose one movement for your body and add on from there. You never know what you like until you try. Now I rotate among four exercises that are routine habits, intending to do 3 of 4 each day. Either the stationary bike, yoga, walk, or weights.  I especially love my Sunday yoga class.

4 Easy Ways How to Invest in Yourself:

  1. Take one small step at a time. Each small change will make a difference.
  2. Bring someone into your confidence, and share your goals with them.
  3. Create a simple daily routine with good habits you are committed to following.
  4. Write down three realistic goals. Be specific with a date you will complete them and begin.

9 Easy Ways to Begin Your Healthy Habits:

  1. Start your day with a healthy breakfast.
  2. Get adequate rest.
  3. Take a few breaks during the day to re-energize yourself.
  4. Surround yourself with people who inspire, and you feel good around. Positive people are supportive and uplifting and have contagious good energy.
  5. Drink plenty of water to detoxify your body, and it will increase your metabolism and improve your digestive function.
  6. For those who do not have an allergy to wheat, eat whole grain bread, cereals, and brown rice pasta instead of white.
  7. Eat a mix of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats.
  8. Eat fiber or protein-rich food throughout the day to maintain your energy levels and help you to feel full longer.
  9. Look at the labels to see how much salt and sugar are in the food you’re buying. They are both very addictive. The more you have sugar and salt, the more you will want.

3 Habits to Avoid:

  1. Avoid eating processed food full of pesticides, hormones, and/or preservatives as much as possible.
  2. Limit white bread, pasta, and starches (empty calories) having no value in nourishing your body.
  3. Keep unhealthy junk foods away as far as possible. Avoid temptations if you can.

Improving your well-being starts with investing in yourself, learning new habits. Remember to include healthy eating, regular exercise, and having fun along the way. Take simple small steps by finding your right balance so you can feel good as you set yourself up for long-term success.

Explore and experiment until you find the right combination for you. Get started with a few easy healthy habits, and when you see how good you feel. Once you have a baseline established you will be ready to add a few more. Start today because it’s those small victories that lead you to create the healthy lifestyle you deserve.
