8 Tips to Choose Well-Being Over Self-Sabotage
- Commit to and write down simple action steps to reach your goals. Every item you complete is progress toward your goals.
- Surround yourself with trustworthy people who inspire you, make you feel good, and radiate positive energy.
- Develop a mantra that relaxes and empowers you. Use positive words such as “I can handle this” or “Nothing can hurt me.” My mantra is, “I can do anything I set my mind to.” Repeat your mantra whenever you feel uncentered.
- Schedule quiet time for yourself. Create a simple, enjoyable routine to move your body that you’ll stick with. Some of my favorite activities include journaling, biking, weightlifting, yoga, meditation, and walking.
- Get adequate rest. Sleep refreshes the mind and body.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and energized.
- Be gentle with yourself. Notice when your thoughts turn negative, and shift to a more positive or uplifting thought.
- Be compassionate. Lift someone’s spirit by sending love with a smile or a hug. You’ll feel peaceful and happy.
Trust your intuition, it’s the little voice inside speaking ever so softly.
Start today; don’t wait for the perfect time to begin. You matter, and your well-being deserves attention. Small, consistent steps create lasting change. When you honor your needs and commit to self-care, you’ll prevent self-sabotage and begin to experience more energy, confidence, and peace.
Choose yourself. Choose well-being. You’ll be glad you did,
